July 12,2008 Version 6. The Good and the Well...

To be honest, I kinda like Version 6. I can get through my updates faster and thinks seem to be running smoother. My only complaint is the complaint I've had since I've joined DA and no one has ever listened to.

It's extremely hard for me to read my update bar at the top of the screen. Due to the unique way my eyes work, using #80978a for text on a #40534a background is near impossible for me to read.

I've said this every single year. I mean simply by lightening the text color to #b3c5b1 would be an improvement.

Right now, as always, I have to do some head tilting and some screen glare and then if I think the blurs look different, I click on them and BAM! I do indee have messages and deviation updates from DA.

Other than that, Version 6 is just a really busy layout that gives a lot of neat features that speed up getting through my notifications once I can tell I have any at all.

Do I ever expect to be able to read that I have DA notifications without hovering over where I think the link might be? No. To be honest, if it wasn't for the hover link saying 1M, 2C, ect....I don't know what I'd do.

i dont know why your eyes are that way or what is wrong with them, but my boyfriend has the same problem (i think) . his solution to it is to make everything on the screen bigger, so that the blur is gone and he can actually read stuff again/ or better then before

Even bigger, the two colors just blend into one another. My hope is that when there are new skins I can use them without a paid account. If I can't, that's okay. It's not like I haven't been navigating on here for over four years without aid of the hover

even bigger? uhm thats sucks. Well i hope that they will change it but my hopes on that arent really high, since the people here are more to comment/complain on the sites long loading and stuff like that then the colours of the site.

lol. but 4 years? you've had trouble like this with this with the ''old'' skin to then? :drup:

glad to hear its just that part then, not that it isnt annying that you dont notice that you have messages and such, but i guess where it can get better it also could be worse too

I just find it really funny that an art site is now near inisible to those who are colorblind. I'm not colorblind, but I have some friends who can't navigate this site at all for problems worse than mine. You'd think they'd figure out how to make a default skin accessible for all.

I'm pretty sure its more bacause of DA's lazyness that they don't pay attention to it and i guess because of that there arent that many people here who are having trouble with it. (and if there were i dont think everyone would complain about it)
